Activella is quite effective in reducing the risk of cancer of the lining of the uterus in women who have not had a hysterectomy. In case of a woman who has had her uterus removed, there is no requirement of progestin, thus should not be treated with Activella. In cases where you need treatment only for vaginal menopause symptoms, products that can be applied directly inside the vagina should be considered.

Precautions While Using Activella
Certain precautions need to be observed while taking Activella:Before you start using this medicine, you should inform your physician if you have vaginal bleeding due to an unknown cause.Talk to doctor if you are suffering from certain types of cancer, such as breast, ovary and uterus, have a history of blood clots, have had a stroke or heart attack or suffering from a liver disease.You should always inform your doctor about your medical history, current medication being taken by you and mental/mood disorders and uterus problems.Activella can make you feel dizzy or lightheaded so one should avoid driving, using machinery or doing any activity that requires high level of alertness.One should avoid alcoholic beverages while taking this medicine.This drug can cause patchy darkening of skin on the face which may worsen by exposure to sunlight. So, one should avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, use sunscreen and effective clothing.Do not smoke cigarettes or use tobacco as it can increase the risk of stroke, blood clots and high blood pressure.Activella should not be used during pregnancy and during breast feeding.
